Destination: ICE! at Gaylord Hotels
The winter holiday season is one of my favorite times of year (aside from the weather). I love seeing all the decorations, hearing the music and watching people buy gifts for their loved ones. One of my favorite holiday activities is visiting ICE! at the Gaylord Hotels.
It is a fun, indoor family activity that people of all ages enjoy. The ice sculptures and design work never cease to amaze me. Each year a new theme is chosen. I love looking at the artwork, going down the slide and enjoying a delicious cup of hot chocolate.
There are 4 locations to be visited:
Gaylord National in the Washington D.C. Area
This year’s theme: ICE! featuring Christmas Around the World
Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN
This year’s theme: ICE! featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Gaylord Palms in the Orlando/Kissimmee Area
This year’s theme: ICE! featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas
Photo Contribution: Caroline Taylor
Gaylord Texan in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Area
This year’s theme: ICE! featuring Santa Clause is Comin’ To Town
A friend and I visited ICE! at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine.
There is a beautiful ice Nativity scene and even a bar (On The Blocks) for adults to visit.
I would suggest dressing really warm when you visit ICE! They do provide long jackets to each visitor, but the room is kept at a chilly 9 degrees.
We loved walking around the resort and looking at the decorations.
Thanks to Caroline Taylor and her family for their photo contributions from the Gaylord Palms.
